O2 Stone

Post by JohnDBrewer » Mon Mar 23, 2015 10:20 pm

The stone that came with my system (used) was completely plugged. Any suggestions how to clean?

I just boiled it, now soaking in vinegar, ran some high pressure co2 through it, but still pretty junked up. Any other suggestions?

If it is totally hosed... then replace it.

I would boil it with a little phosphoric acid - try to get the pH around 5. That should remove most of the junk, but you might need to put some light pressure behind it to push stuff out into the boil as it softens. Co2 should work at low pressure. Please be careful if you do it.
