 Ok... So I started a batch today and it clogged the MT outlet when I was trying to recirculate the wort I kept trying to get it to break free "stopping and starting the pump" about 15 times then everything stopped... it wouldn't cycle through the top at all... I 1st thought the plumbing may have been clogged...but I hooked my hose up to all the outlets and pressure cleaned the lines...still nothing... so I opened up the door and seen my pumps fan not running! Do I just need to oil it?? or is it broke?? I just finished up with the batch, had to pull out my old coolers and finish the sparge that way...
PLEASE HELP!! I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER PUMP I'VE ONLY USED IT LIKE 7 TIMES : (
Thanks
Brian

Hey Brian,
Sorry to hear about your pump issues while recirculating.

First thing to check is the emergency button, was it accidentally pressed and activated?

Next, was the recirculation working properly then stuck or did it not start at all?

Next, how much malt are we talking about?
What's your crush size?
Are you using a false bottom?
Did you follow Sabco's MT filling instructions? (filling from the bottom until you're 1" above the false bottom, add grains slowly, add mash water from the top inlet, very mild stir, etc)
Did you wait 15-20mins to let the mash-bed form before starting the recirculation?

Hope this helps,
Hooch

All is good, freaked out over nothing.. went out and got some oil for the pump.. a few clicks and she fired right back up.. but you are right I did add my grains to fast (grain bag slipped out of my hand) I had a stuck sparge and guess it seized the pump from me trying to clear it out...
Luckily some quick thinking and my old cooler HLT & MT, I transferred the mash to a 15 gallon bag in my cooler and sparged... Surprising everything turned out right on target!
Thanks for the help
Brian

Glad to hear that the pump is working for you again. Just out of curiosity, how old is your BM? I know you said you've only used it about 7 times, is that the BM or did u have the pump replaced.
