How do you test the last runnings of the mash's ph when the drain tube is under-wort? Does that question make sense?

I am thinking it is just too late then, no? Your just going to measure the whole at that point, aside from not really having any other choice.

FWIW, I finally bother purchasing a Ph meter the other day, so I am way late to this party.

Thanks for the replies. same issue applies to the gravity of the last runnings. Looks like some of the system pictures folks have posted has a silicone tube v. the hard stainless on mine. I have a 2014 model.
