Main Drain Valve question

Post by golden164 » Thu Nov 27, 2014 6:54 pm

I just received my BM, and am trying to get all the pieces in place before I do the first cleaning and brew session.

I'm going to be brewing in my garage for a while, and I don't have a drain in the garage. I need to hook up a hose to the master drain valve, so I can drain cleaning fluids out in a sewer drain about 20 feet away.

I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to attach a garden hose to the master drain valve. What do other people do?

Is this the right attachment for the drain connector on the BM?

Thanks for any advice - I can't wait to get started on the BM!

I simply put a homer bucket underneath. Never have bothered with a hose. You will only use it in emergencies, when running cleaning cycles and occasionally to deal with a cavitation pump. TIP: keep the bucket clean and you can transfer hot liquor more quickly with the bucket if needed or cleaning solutions.
